About Danny T
One night in a disco, on the outskirts of Frisco, two lovers engaged in the act of seduction – the culmination of which would change the evolutionary path of man, moustache and music.
In this day and age, artists come and go nearly as quickly as genres, and while others fade, the odd few just get better and better. Danny T is one such artist. This twenty-something, facial hair aficionado transcends genres in a futuristic exploration of house music, and he was doing it long before it was cool.
His debutant release pricked the ears of Sweat It Out ‘head towel’ and Dance Legend, Ajax (RIP), with his sexed-out-sax-jam ‘Jazzcat’ landing him his debut EP ‘The Mean Baby EP’. It was this that saw Danny T’s initiation into the Sweat It Out family made official.
The break-through EP was then followed by a succession of dance-floor chart-toppers; ‘Whine Ya Waistline’ (#1 Aria Club Chart) ‘Delicious’, ‘Serenghetto’ , ‘The Fever (feat. KLP)’ and ’Take Me’, not to mention his most recent single ‘Let Me Go’ all holding ground within the Top 5 in the Aria Club Chart.
Remixing an eclectic spectrum of artists including Le Youth, AlunaGeorge, Anna Lunoe, Parachute Youth and even Nicki Minaj, it was his remix of RÜFÜS’ hit single ‘Tonight’, a deep whomping club weapon, that pricked the ears of his peers, with support from Bag Raiders, What So Not, Motez, Oliver Heldens and Golden Features just to name a few.
With a string of major label releases under his belt, the last couple of years has seen Danny inject some new-age cool into the iconic Ministry of Sound brand, mixing compilations including ‘Clubbers Guide to 2012’ and most recently Ministry Of Sound ‘House Sessions’ (2014) all of which have shot to the top of the iTunes and compilations charts.
Yes its Danny T; one of the most technically skilled and versatile DJs today, with records that bump like Chicago, wonk like London and sing like San Fran… It’s house music with balls. He’s the Sweat stalwart, the keeper of all things jackin’ and one of the most loved artists in the Australian dance scene.
