►About GENERIK

Generik’s life is a nonstop Tour of Cool. Producer by day, DJ by night and card-carrying party animal at any hour, Melbourne’s Tyson O’Brien is dance music’s larger than life hero. And right now, he’s busy making 2016 his biggest year yet.

After claiming the #1 spot on the ARIA Club Charts five weeks running with his huge debut single The Weekend, this year Generik will return with a stack of new music recorded between Sydney, Melbourne and his adopted home of Los Angeles.

First up is the summery house single Late At Night, another hit of Generik’s trademark good vibes with a freewheeling message. “It’s all about having fun,” he says. “That’s what my music should be about, because that’s who I am.” The track premiered worldwide on Billboard magazine, and soon became Generik’s second track to peak at #1 on the Club Charts.

Later this year he’ll get to share two more original tracks, including one featuring Need U 100% vocalist A*M*E. Also on the way is a bunch of new remixes, adding to the edits he’s already done for Galantis, Dillon Francis & Kygo, Yolanda Be Cool and Hayden James.

All of Generik’s music is made to get people moving at festivals and inside rammed clubs, something he knows a thing or two about. This year the professional party-starter landed a residency at Las Vegas superclub OMNIA, supporting superstar DJ Calvin Harris in the hardest-partying city on earth. It’s a spot he was handpicked for by Harris himself, after the pair first met and hit it off six years prior. Elsewhere in Vegas, Generik can be found throwing down in big rooms at Hakkasan and Wet Republic.

When he’s not lighting up Sin City, Generik’s ticking off big North American shows everywhere from HARD Summer to Holy Ship, Life In Colour and Miami superclub LIV – not to mention ruling the mainstage around Australia with Stereosonic. He is playing a whopping 140 shows in 2016. And to top it all off, this year he’ll make his inaugural appearance at the 25th anniversary of super-festival Lollapalooza.

It’s all in a day’s work for Generik, who now hosts his own radio show every Friday night on Australia’s Nova FM. “I’m so fucking lucky that I get to play my songs and other people’s songs to people. For me, I can’t see anything better than sharing my love and excitement and happiness to people who want to listen to my music and come to my shows,” he says.

“I’m having so much fun with my life and I want to share that with the rest of the world.”
