Hermitude are an evolving success story, from humble beginnings born in music and friendship, to creative and commercial peaks that grow with each release. Things really took off to another level when Hermitude’s fourth album HyperParadise (released in early 2012) and, for the first time in their career, charted in the Australian Top 40. Then something else happened, a young producer named Flume remixed their song ‘HyperParadise’ and everything escalated. Hype Machine and Soundcloud went bonkers and the song went platinum.
When Elefant Traks released Dark Night Sweet Light on May 15 it became the #1 in the country-their first top ten album, and a landmark moment for Elgusto and Luke Dubs. It stayed in the Top 10 for weeks following. Their Australian album tour was completely sold-out and the international release of Dark Night Sweet Light is slated for August 28 through Nettwerk records.

In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded darkness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescentlight, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone.
Years spending wandering medieval landscapes have informed Claptone’s view of the world, experiencing both magical mystery and muted melancholy he enchanted onlookers with occult instruments and beguiling sounds. Forever surroundedby a sense of intrigue, the world soon cottoned on to the elusive yet enchanting musical powers of this otherworldly beast. The results are that today his shamanistic sonic powers take him all around the world.
