NILE RODGERS & CHIC
There can be little argument that CHIC was & is disco’s greatest band; and, working in a heavily producer-dominated field, they were most definitely a band. By the time CHIC appeared in the late ’70s, they bucked the trend by stripping disco’s sound down to its basic elements; their funky, stylish grooves had an organic sense of interplay that was missing from many of their overproduced competitors. CHIC’s sound was anchored by the scratchy, James Brown-style rhythm guitar of Nile Rodgers and those indelible, widely imitated (sometimes outright stolen) bass lines; as producers, Chic used keyboard and string embellishments economically, which kept the emphasis on rhythm. CHIC’s distinctive approach not only resulted in some of the finest dance singles of their time, but also helped create a template for urban funk, dance-pop, and even hip-hop in the post-disco era. Not coincidentally, Rodgers and Edwards wound up as two of the most successful producers of the ’80s. CHIC has been nominated for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame eight times and now billed as Nile Rodgers & CHIC, continue to perform to sold-out venues worldwide.

TODD TERRY
Grammy Award nominated DJ/Producer Todd Terry has been engulfed in dance music, since he first started listening to European dance music records while growing up in Brooklyn. Already devoted to turntables, he heard something different in those tracks, and he went for the difference. Before the EDM revolution in the States, U.S artists had to establish themselves and their sound on a world stage. Todd did this by fusing early house music from Chicago and techno from Detroit with a NY BBoy feel. Once those influences were thrown in the pot – the finished produce was a very distinctive Todd Terry sound, that has been copied by many and mastered by none.

Todd Terry’s discography is extensive including the likes of: INXS, Garbage, Everything But the Girl & Annie Lennox are included in his remix portfolio.

A true innovator……

MITZI
“What Cut Copy does for new wave, Mitzi does for disco”
– MTV

“Mitzi draws simply and unabashedly from disco’s sunnier side” – Pitchfork

Having blown audiences away with their 2011 debut EP ‘All I Heard’, Mitzi are back with the first single from their forthcoming debut album. Released through Sydney-based indie dance record label Future Classic, ‘Who Will Love You Now’ showcases Mitzi’s unique brand of garage disco, NYC indie with the light-heartedness of Australian pop.

On ‘Who Will Love You Now’, the Brisbane quartet no longer comply with a classic pop pigeonhole. Armed with a dreamy astral delivery, vintage analog warmth and summery sounds, the single is fresh and steeped in disco cool. Having supported the likes of Darwin Deez, Foster The People, Yelle and The Whitest Boy Alive, Mitzi have also used their production skills to remix artists such as Two Door Cinema Club (Kitsune), Cassian (Bang Gang 12″s), Lo Fi Fnk and Jinja Safari.

In the past 18 months they’ve been dubbed one of NME’s Buzz Artists in addition to garnering the title of inthemix Best Local Newcomer for 2011. Having already worked with Jono Ma (Jagwar Ma, Lost Valentinos) at Ewan Pearson’s studio in Berlin on ‘All I Heard’, the new album was mixed in London by Ash Workman (Metronomy, Summer Camp, Klaxons).

‘Who Will Love You Now’ premiered internationally on Vice’s Noisey Music Channel, followed by the blissed-out visuals of their new videoclip gracing the homepage of iconic online destination, The Fader.
